Starting dosage (first few days of your first course)
When: In the morning
Volume: 1 spray in each nostril
How often: Once a day
How many times per week: Daily for typically 3 to 5 days
Note
We intentionally start at a lower dose to assess how you tolerate the medication. You must begin with the recommended Starting Dosage and must not exceed it unless specifically instructed during your Nurse Dosage Consult. Use Semax once a day, in the morning, for the first few days of your first course.Standard dosage
When: In the morning or early afternoon only
Volume: 1 spray in each nostril
How often: Up to 3 times a day, all within the first half of the day
How many times per week: Daily for typically 3 to 5 days
Note
If needed, you can gradually increase to up to 3 times a day. For later courses, you can start straight away at the dose that worked well for you. Do not use Semax more than 3 times a day, or later than early afternoon. How to use your nasal spray
Before each use
- Gently clear your nose before each dose, as excess mucus can reduce how well Semax is absorbed.
Using your spray
- Sit or stand with your head tilted slightly forward.
- Place the nozzle just inside one nostril and spray once while breathing in gently through your nose.
- Repeat in the other nostril.
- Try not to blow your nose straight after using it.
- Wipe the nozzle clean and replace the cap after each use.
Why mornings? Semax can be stimulating, so using it later in the day may affect your sleep.
Missed a dose? Do not double up to make up for a missed dose. If it is already later in the day, skip it and continue with your next dose as usual.
